Privacy notice

Who is responsible and what this covers

Yev Tarler is responsible for the visitor-data practices described here on polarity.work, yev.polarity.work and Shaked's home page at shaked.polarity.work. For a privacy question or request, contact yev@polarity.work.

The Shaked quiz has a separate privacy notice linked from the quiz. This notice does not replace notices for information you submit through external services or send in a message.

When you visit

Google Cloud Run hosts these pages and processes requests so the pages can load. Hosting logs can contain request information such as IP address, requested URL, browser information, time and response status. Hosting logs are separate from Google Analytics. Denying Analytics storage does not turn off server request processing or logs.

The Google Cloud project's Default log bucket is set to keep logs for 30 days. Its locked Required audit-log bucket keeps logs for 400 days. These bucket settings are not a promise about the retention of any exported records.

Google Analytics without analytics cookies

These three home pages use Google Analytics 4 to understand visits and clicks on selected buttons. Our tag sets analytics storage and advertising consent to denied before measurement starts. It does not enable analytics cookies and has no Accept option on these pages. It removes accessible old GA cookies and the earlier saved homepage analytics choice.

Google still receives measurements without analytics cookies, including page views and selected button clicks. Requests expose technical information such as your IP address and browser to Google. Google's documentation says GA4 does not log or store individual IP addresses from EU, UK or Swiss users; it derives approximate location before discarding them. This is Google's description of its processing, not a statement that no personal data is processed.

Our tag sends the page origin and path without query strings or fragments, a cleaned referrer and fixed site, page, button-label and button-position categories. We do not intentionally send names, email addresses, form text, quiz answers or quiz results to Analytics. Advertising storage, advertising user data and ad personalization remain denied. Google signals are disabled in our site tag.

"Without cookies" does not mean no information goes to Google. It does not establish that analytics without prior consent is lawful in every country. The legal basis and international-transfer arrangements for this setup still require review; this notice is not a claim that those questions are settled.

Analytics retention

The current Analytics property is set to 2 months for event data and 14 months for user data associated with identifiers. User-data retention resets on new user activity. Google's standard aggregated reports are not deleted under these controls. These settings are not a blanket deletion deadline for all cookieless measurements, reports or downloads.

Free guide and newsletter

When you ask for the free guide, I collect your first name and email address. I use them to send you the guide and to add you to my newsletter. By submitting the form you agree to both, as the line under the button says. There is no separate checkbox and no confirmation step, and I do not verify that the address is yours, so please only use your own. The guide opens on the page right after you submit.

What is stored, and where. Your request is saved in a private Google Sheet that only I can open. It holds your first name, email address, that you agreed to the newsletter when you submitted, which version of the consent text you saw, the time of the request, the time the guide was sent, and the status of the email and of your newsletter sign-up. It does not store your IP address or browser details. The guide email is sent from yev@polarity.work through a Google Apps Script in my Google account. Newsletter subscribers are held at Brevo, an email service hosted in the EU, which also sends the newsletter. The form uses Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that a visitor is not a bot and receives technical information from your browser to do that. Our website runs on Google Cloud Run in the United States. Google, Brevo and Cloudflare have their own privacy terms and may process data outside your country.

How long I keep it. I keep your email on the newsletter list until you unsubscribe or ask me to delete it. Requests that never joined the list, for example because you had already opted out, are deleted 30 days after the guide was sent. Requests that were never completed, or where sending failed, are deleted after 7 days.

Your choices. The guide email and every newsletter email have an unsubscribe link. One click removes you from the list, and you keep the guide. You can also write to yev@polarity.work to ask for access, correction or deletion of your details, or to withdraw your consent. Withdrawing does not affect what happened before. Existing opt-outs are not reversed by a new sign-up. The basis for this processing is your consent.

Other services

Google provides our hosting and Analytics services. Brevo provides email services, and Cloudflare Turnstile checks the guide form for bots. Some buttons take you to WhatsApp, Instagram or Tally. Those services receive information when you use them and have their own privacy terms. Our custom click events do not send a button's destination, phone number or email address. Google's services and the linked services may process information outside your country. Google says EU, UK and Swiss Analytics data is first collected on regional servers before being forwarded for processing.

The Shaked quiz has its own optional analytics choice, separate from the home page. Its privacy notice explains its email and quiz practices.

Your choices and rights

A browser content blocker can stop requests to Google. On the Shaked quiz, its Analytics settings let you change its separate analytics choice.

Depending on applicable law and the information held, you may ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability, or object to processing. Where processing relies on consent, you can withdraw it without affecting earlier processing. Write to yev@polarity.work and describe your request. We may need enough information to verify that it concerns you. Because these home pages do not use a stable analytics cookie identifier, an email address alone may not let us find an individual Analytics record.

You can also complain to your data-protection authority. In Portugal, that is the CNPD. In the EEA, you can complain in particular to the authority where you live, work or where an alleged infringement occurred.

Changes

We will update this notice when the sites or their data practices change. Updating a notice does not by itself authorize new uses of visitor information.
